St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Elementary School in Thornhill recently held a fun Caps for Crohn's & Colitis Day to raise money for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
Students and staff wore caps, as well as funny hats, toques and hoodies to demonstrate their support for people living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), which includes both Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis. IBD is a group of inflammatory conditions that disrupt the body's ability to digest food, absorb nutrition, and eliminate waste in a healthy manner.
The school proudly raised over $500 which will go towards raising awareness about IBD, as well as helping to fund research to find a cure for this often debilitating and painful disease. Great job!
