St. Padre Pio Catholic Elementary School in Vaughan celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a special liturgy and art show on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. It also marked the milestone anniversary with a theatrical production on May 12th and 13th.
On May 5th, the Liturgy of the Word was led by Monsignor Greg Ace and the school’s Grade 4 students at St. Padre Pio Church. Later that evening there was an art show called, “Through God’s Eyes” that featured work by the school’s Grades 1, 3 and 6 students.
On May 12th and 13th, the school community was invited to the school for a 10th Anniversary theatrical production called, “Time of Your Life,” by the school’s Kindergarten and Grades 2, 5, 7 and 8 students.
St. Padre Pio CES first opened its doors to approximately 400 students in September 2005 under the direction of its inaugural principal, Ada Marchesini. Since then it has been recognized as a School of Distinction for Excellence in Language Arts by the Garfield Weston Foundation, and has received the Imperial Oil Foundation Award for Excellence in Mathematics.
“St. Padre Pio is a very warm and welcoming school, with exemplary staff, engaged students and a very supportive parent community,” said Jo-Ann Dawson, Principal. “Thank you to everyone who helped mark our 10th anniversary with us.”
