Crochet Club at St. Charles Garnier teaches students practical skills

The Crochet Club is made up of Grades 6-8 students who get together twice a week over the lunch hour to crochet. The club offers students the ability to learn a practical new skill while also picking up a new hobby and having fun. Students also develop their fine-motor, mathematical numeration, and patterning skills by crocheting.

So far students have learned the basic crochet stiches and have been able to apply their skills to crochet a granny square scarf and winter hat. Their new found skill has been useful to help keep the students warm and cozy during the long winter.
